Weeks Brick House & Gardens

30th Annual Meeting & Reunion
of Leonard Weeks and Descendants in America, Inc.

September 10th & 11th, 2005

Overview

Plans are still in the process of being finalized for a Special weekend reunion in celebration of our Special 30th anniversary.

On Saturday, September 10 we have lined up a late afternoon Charter Boat Cruise on the Piscataqua River and Great Bay, followed by dinner in historic Portsmouth. More information on this event follows. In order to make this work, we must have prepaid commitments from all who wish the boat trip.

Then on Sunday, September 11 we go forth with our annual format of: devotions and hymn singing, genealogy inquiry/exchange, trail walk, a historic gardens speaker, business meeting including committee reports and election of officers and directors, a picnic-type lunch, and winding up with our fabulous fund-raising auction of treasures brought by you. Also, on Sunday the house and gardens will be open for tours, and there will be a special exhibit of famous people in history, featured through a display of Life and Death masks.

CHARTER CRUISE

Travel up the Piscataqua River from downtown Portsmouth, past docked freighters and tankers, past weathered houses and old villages of New Hampshire and Maine. Enter a peaceful world of winding inland waterways to experience the expanse of Great Bay, striking in its quiet beauty. Discover birds you may never have seen before.
Come aboard, sit back and relax aboard the Heritage, a 65’ Coast Guard approved motor vessel. The open deck is perfectly suited for sightseeing, but the enclosed cabin is available in case of cold or wet weather.
From your on-the-water vantage point see approximately where the WBH property meets the Bay; where the Weeks/Smith Great Bay Farm overlooks the Bay; where Marion Weeks and others live in the Bayside area.

This cruise will run from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. Participants are asked to bring potluck hors d’oeuvre snacks to share during the cruise. A cash bar is available for soda, beer and wine. We will make suggestions for dinner following, or may be able to secure arrangements for the whole group at one place.
The cost of this cruise is $35.00 per person. Please use the Reservation Form in this newsletter, as we must have firm commitments from those desiring to participate, and reservations must be received by August 15.
Details will be sent to those who register and pay in advance.
